Tom’s experience of the Soup Kitchen

Tom’s experience of the Soup Kitchen – I started going the soup kitchen when my dad talked about it over lunch and it interested me to see how other people live life. I really wanted to get involved with soup kitchen to see what it was like. When you start you have the perception of them being old, with scruffy clothes and rude. This isn’t the case, because they are so grateful that you give up your own time to come down and serve them hot food and drinks. Not all of them wear scruffy clothes, some are reasonably well dressed. I have been told by my friends and school that what I do down at soup kitchen is an amazing thing and that I should be proud of myself for what I do. I really enjoy serving at Shekinah and hope to continue as long as I can.
