A huge THANKYOU to all our sponsored winter walkers…..
On Saturday 19th November at 9pm while storm Angus raged around us, 38 people took part in the Soup Run Sponsored Winter Walk. The participants ranged from 17 to 80 years old, with our oldest participant leading the way! It was wet, it was windy and there was surface water everywhere but no one complained! After completing the 5 mile walk which took us around the Soup Run Route we finished at Shekinah to enjoy a cup of hot soup kindly provided by the Copthorne Hotel. At the end of the evening all the walkers knew they were going home to get warm and dry, unlike those sleeping rough. The walk gave us a very small insight into how it must feel to be out in all weathers without knowing how to get dry or where to go for shelter.
Many thanks to all who participated, the total raised is expected to be around £500.
