Hope Baptist Church organise the Soup Run every Monday with the help of church members and local groups. Last night church members were joined by volunteers from #babcocktu who prepared the food and a team from the #roundtable who served the 100 people waiting at one of the 4 stops. Plymouth Soup Run
HUGE thanks to Sarah @Harbourside Fish & Chips who sponsored Hilary 100 portions of chips for running the 5K. On Sunday the team served the chips with sausage and baked beans, sandwiches, a snack bag, lots of fruit and a choice of yogurt, jelly or pots of fruit. On Thursday a team from #TheCornwallBakery prepared the food and served on Plymouth Soup Run. There was a wonderful selection of sandwiches and pasties, a snack bag, butternut squash soup and a selection of drinks. 80 people were served. 3 sleeping bags were given out. It is always good to catch up with people and hear their news. 1 person now has a job, another person has accommodation, while another person’s health is much improved. The team from Plymouth Methodist Central Hall and St Peter & the Holy Apostles, Plymouth had a busy but calm run on Saturday night. As every Saturday, Path Devon staff and Soup Run volunteers opened Shekinah this morning for people who are rough sleeping. We had a steady stream of people coming in for a cooked breakfast and a shower. Our fortnightly podiatry session, courtesy of Forgotten Feet - Helping Homeless Feet volunteers, meant that anyone with footcare issues could get prompt treatment.
