There was a great selection of food on Tuesday night prepared by Sheena and the kitchen team at St Matts Plymouth. On the menu was mozzarella pasta and broccoli, cheese and veg slices with baked potatoes, baked potato and pizza together with Piri Piri rice. The soup was chicken and vegetable.
Lots of people took some ambient food which included fruit, vegetables, yoghurts and pretzels collected from FareShare South West.
89 people were served during the evening.
2 sleeping bags and 4 blankets were handed out together with some toiletries and clothes.
Many thanks to St Matts Plymouth and all their volunteers for organising and serving on Plymouth Soup Run every fortnight.

Monday night co ordinated by Hope Baptist Church was very slightly quieter than the previous few nights with 82 people served by the team from Ashfords, together with #jackskorecki and Prayer Pastors Alex and Michael.
Mary drove the bus.
A message was passed to 1 person telling them they had a place on sleep safely and 3 people shared their concerns about lack of accommodation.
Volunteers from StreetVet Plymouth joined Plymouth Soup Run as they do every Monday offering support with people’s animals.
Many thanks to all who helped both out on the Run and in the kitchen preparing the food.

Thanks to FareShare South West there was a great selection of food on Sunday evening. The hot meal was a choice of generous portions of sausage and bacon pasta bake or cheesy vegetable bake. Sandwiches, were cheese and coleslaw, plain cheese or ham together with soup, crisps, and chocolate biscuits. There were also some yogurts and piping hot chocolate puddings and a selection of ambient food.
98 people were served during the evening. 2 people had a sleeping bag and 1 person had a laundry voucher.
Many thanks to Lyndsey for masterminding and producing the main course and to ALL the team for their help and support. Sadly 3 of our team were struggling with their own health.

Every night has been busy this week and Saturday was no exception for the team from Plymouth Methodist Central Hall and St Peter & the Holy Apostles, Plymouth.
100 people were served a selection of hot savouries with baked beans, sandwiches, snacks, cakes and hot drinks. So popular was the vegetable soup it quickly ran out.
3 blankets, 2 sleeping bags, lots of socks and some toiletries were also given out.
Conversations varied from light hearted school day memories to hearing how low some people felt and to offering advice about other services in the city.
Huge thanks to ALL the team both who prepared the food and who served on Plymouth Soup Run.

A calm, relaxed, happy Saturday morning at Shekinah with lots of time for people to relax, chat and enjoy the garden. 24 people came in during the morning with another 2 people collecting a lunch pack at the door.
7 people had a shower with lots of people glad to get some clean clothes. 2 people had a laundry voucher and we helped 1 person purchase a bike lock .
Many thanks to all the team both in the kitchen where Lyndsey was busy preparing Sunday nights meal and on the floor.
As people left many said “ see you later at the soup run”.

On the menu on Friday night was a choice of jacket potatoes with cheese and beans or cheese and tomato pasta with flat bread. All served with homemade lentil soup, cheese and ham sandwiches and a choice of hot drinks. Yogurts and bananas were also available.
It was very busy at the first stop but average numbers at the other 3.
The team from Plymouth Christian Centre catered for 100 so there was plenty of food for everyone who came to the run.
3 sleeping bags were given out and a few toiletries.
Lots of people currently #streethomeless said they would be at #Shekinah this morning.

Thursday was another very busy night for Plymouth Soup Run. The team from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints prepared food for 100 people with some Pot Noodles available, if the main food rain out. By the end of the night, once everyone had been served, there was no food left.
Because of the high number of people currently being served the number of second bags available is very limited.
Wherever possible people are being encouraged to come and collect their own food.
3 sleeping bags were given out along with some toiletries.
A number of people wanted to chat and it was great to hear some positive news about someone’s upcoming accommodation.

It was a busy Wednesday night for the team from #mutleybaptistchurch. In keeping with recent numbers 104 meals were given out to 98 people, with 9 collecting an extra meal for a friend or family member who could not make it to Plymouth Soup Run.
The weather was thankfully calm and dry, but most people commented on the chill in the air.
2 sleeping bags were given out and 1 Path Devon referral was made for a person currently #streethomeless.
Lots of Hoodies, T-Shirts, Underwear and Toiletries were given out.
Many thanks to last night’s team and to all the volunteers from Mutley Baptist Church who serve on Plymouth Soup Run EVERY Wednesday.

Tuesday night, sponsored and funded by Elior and supported by Babcock and Mace employees was very busy, with 100 + people served between the 4 stops. By the end of the evening there was very little food left but everyone did get something. 3 people were pleased to have the remaining milk left from making the hot drinks.
During the evening 3 sleeping bags, 1 blanket , 1 laundry voucher and 1 day rider were given out.
The team were joined by Catherine, the Health and Well Being Practitioner from Transforming Plymouth Together who chatted to people offering advice as appropriate..

Huge thanks to everyone who helped on bank holiday Monday. Lorraine and Jess led the The Salvation Army - Plymouth Whitleigh food prep TEAM along with Louis the DofE student.
Josh drove the serving team, Roy, Mark, Will, Emma and Joe. Richard and Bronia were they ever ready to listen and chat prayer pastors.
A relatively quiet evening with the StreetVet, Plymouth volunteers attending to our four legged friends. We were pleased to hear that Bella, pictured showing off her new haircut, is doing well.

A HUGE thank you to Nick and Jo Connett and the volunteers from #stpaulschurchefford for organising and serving on Sunday, an extra night for their team, to ensure everyone was fed as usual.
It was a busy evening at all stops with 101 people served, with another 10 meals collected for family / friends.
The team prepared 100 meals (jacket potatoes, with bacon, cheese and beans) but ran out of hot meals at Kings road with about 5 people happy to have pot noodles and extra snack bags instead.
1 Sleeping bag, a roll mat and blanket were given out plus a
large quantity of clothing.
Several people asked if Shekinah would be open on Monday as it was a bank holiday and the team could confirm it was open from 9.30 a.m. until 11.30 a.m.
All in all a good night on the run.

With 1 team unavailable on Saturday, the Sunday team covered Saturday and St Paul’s are covering tonight.
It was a relatively quiet night with 71 people served on Plymouth Soup Run and 8 meals collected for family / friends. There was plenty of food for everyone and, after stop 1, we gave out extras with the remaining hot meals taken to George House BCHA.
Huge thanks to all the team, 4 of whom helped at Shekinah on Saturday morning, with Debbie cooking at both sessions. Chicken curry and rice, with a vegetarian option, was served with plenty of cheese or ham sandwiches, fruit, yogurts and some ambient food.
Many thanks to Plymouth City Council for donating some of the remaining food following the Southway evacuation.
3 sleeping bags and roll mats were given out. Grateful thanks to the couple who dropped off the roll mats and sleeping bags. People rough sleeping were so pleased to be offered a roll mat.

It was a busy Saturday morning at Shekinah with 15 full English breakfasts cooked and eaten in the first 15 minutes. 25 people joined us during the morning with 3 more people collecting a packed lunch.

Thanks also to Jo the podiatrist from Forgotten Feet - Helping Homeless Feet who was kept busy during the morning.

Sausages were on the menu on Friday, either with beans and mash, peas and mash or vegetarian sausages. The sandwiches were cheese and ham or cheese and coleslaw. Homemade vegetable soup, snacks and hot drinks were also available. 78 people were served during the evening, which at times was very “lively”, with another 14 meals collected for family/friends.
4 sleeping bags were given out.
People who are #streethomeless were reminded that Shekinah would be open on Saturday morning between 9 a.m.and 11.30 a.m.

On a beautiful calm Thursday the volunteers from #thecornwallbakery arrived at Plymouth Soup Run with plenty of food. They had snack bags packed with crisps, chocolate biscuits and water, a large selection of sandwiches and a choice of Cornish pasties, cheese and onion pasties or a peppered steak slice. The soup was chicken and gravy and received many favourable comments.
The team served 73 people with 6 more bags of food collected for family / friends unable to come to the Run.
Towards the end of the night everyone was offered extra food.
2 thin sleeping bags were exchanged for thicker ones and 1 new sleeping bag was given out.
Many thanks to the Cornwall bakery and their team of volunteers for organising and serving on the run every five weeks. Thanks also for the wonderful donation of pasties and slices received weekly by a number of soup run teams.

There was hungry anticipation in the air on Wednesday when the team from #MutleyBaptistChurch arrived with sausage and chips, with most people tucking in immediately.
Huge thanks to Dan and the team at Perilla's Fish and Chip Shop on Mutley Plain for gifting 85 portions of Sausage and Chips. In addition the team took out cheese sandwiches and hot vegetarian savouries. And there was also a large donation of food from Tesco, Mutley Plain.
The team served 99 meals including 19 extras. Lots of clothes and toiletries were given out as well as 4 sleeping bags.
At the end of the evening, the spare food was taken to George House BCHA.

On Tuesday evening a team of people were busy in the kitchen and hall at St Matts Plymouth preparing the food for Plymouth Soup Run. 2 enormous pans were simmering in the kitchen, one with tomato and vegetable soup, the other with spicy Tempeh and vegetables, to be served with rice. The sandwiches were ham and cucumber or cheese and tomato.
The snack bags were being made up and there were trays of vegetables and fruit to share.
Once all the food was prepared the volunteers who were serving on the run arrived and loaded their cars.
74 people were served during the evening with another 7 bags collected for family / friends unable to come to the Run.
The team had prepared food for 100 people so at the last stop everyone was offered extra and the remaining food was taken to George House BCHA.
1 sleeping bag was given out.

On Monday 84 people were served by Plymouth Soup Run with another 6 bags collected for family / friends. Viv led the kitchen team at #HopeBaptistChurch and Richard, Stephen and Michael went out with a team from Saltash medical centre.
It was a dry and peaceful evening with just the right amount of food.
5 sleeping bags were given out with referrals to the Rough Sleepers Team Path Devon.
The StreetVet Plymouth were out as they are every Monday looking after people’s animals.

It was another exceptionally busy Sunday night for our regular team of volunteers, who were fortunately joined by 4 members of STORM running.
With 123 people served there was very little food left by the time we reached the last stop, so 5 people came down to Shekinah, where we were able to give them some food from our store cupboard. As Tuesday, once we saw how many people were at the first stop, 7 3, we had to decline all requests for second bags.
The hot meals were cheesy pasta bake either with or without bacon and sausage or Thai Chicken.
There were also bananas and some yogurts. 
Many thanks to FareShare South West for many of the ingredients.
2 blankets and 2 sleeping bags were given out.
And we sent 1 person to A & E in a taxi.
HUGE thanks to all the team for their help on a VERY busy night.
Also many, many thanks for all the donations we have received via our Amazon Wish List in the last couple of days - 5 sleeping bags, 6 pairs of joggers, 3 trays of Pot Noodles and some ladies underwear, all received anonymously.
Thanks also to Dawn, her dad & clients at #thecuttingcorner for their very generous donations. We used the drinks straight away.
