Friday was a busy day for Karen who coordinates the #MutleyBaptistChurch Soup Run team. Karen was delighted to collect an amazing donation of food and toiletries for Plymouth Soup Run from the staff and companies at #ClearbrookHouse. Many thanks to you all.
Also delivered on Friday were donations from Hannah and Michelle from #CreativeConstruction who brought gifts of food, toiletries and warm socks as part of Plymouth Soup Run’s Reverse Advent Calendar appeal. Massive thanks are due to Jo Taylor and the rest of the staff who contributed so thoughtfully.
A lady from St Mark’s Church, Ford, also arrived at the church with a gift bag of goodies for our service users and a box of essentials, containing a hat, gloves and scarf, was also left anonymously at the church. Warm thanks to you all on behalf of Plymouth Soup Run!

The team from Lighthouse Community Centre CIC crossed the Tamar to serve on Plymouth Soup Run on Saturday evening, bringing with them food, clothes, warm packs and some Christmas boxes. It was a very wet evening with less people waiting for food than on some nights. 60 people were served with some extra meals taken for friends/ family.
Project 58:7 was operating again at #MutleyBaptistChurch with 4 people waiting to talk to Path Devon staff to confirm they could access the provision & sleep in the warm and dry.

It was an exceptionally busy Saturday morning at #Shekinah, with many people arriving as we opened. During the morning 30 people were served, with some having a shower, and others catching up on their sleep.

The team of cooks at #plymouthchristiancentre were busy on Friday afternoon preparing the food for Plymouth Soup Run. On the menu ; jacket potatoes, cheesy beans and bacon, and a variety of cheese and ham sandwiches with homemade chutney and pumpkin soup. Thanks to FareShare South West there was lots of fruit, snacks and cold drinks. 82 people were served during the evening with some extras collected for family members.
Once again, staff from Path Devon joined the Run advising people, who were #streethomeless that #mutleybaptistchurch was open overnight.

With Advent nearly over donations are arriving thick and fast for Plymouth Soup Run. The response we are receiving this year is truly wonderful.
Our thanks go to Esterlam International Ltd, PME Group, the Career Transition Partnership, Suzanne and everyone, mostly anonymous, who has sent items via out Amazon Wish List. Every donation received will go out to the people we serve and hopefully make Christmas and the New Year a little easier.

On Thursday the Church of Jesus Christ of LatterDay Saints did their last Plymouth Soup Run of 2025. It was a dry, quiet evening with 58 people served plus lots of extra bags given out, including for family and friends. At the end of the evening there was still spare food which was taken to George House BCHA.

Instead of doing Secret Santa, Teresa and staff at Chameleons Hair and Scalp all contributed money towards buying items that will directly help people who are #streethomeless.Their amazing donation includes sleeping bags, roll mats and rucksacks, items that are so desperately needed by people when they are sleeping on the street. Many thanks to all of you. Your kindness will help Plymouth Soup Run to support people who are currently living out on the street.

Many thanks to all the pupils and families at #Ugboroughprimaryschool for their thoughtful Reverse Advent Calendar donations which were collected today. Ugborough School have supported Plymouth Soup Run for a number of years and we really value their support.
A highlight this year, was when a pupil, following our talk in assembly, came up to say they had £1 so would be able to buy something. Included in the box of donations are many of the useful items we talked about in Assembly including “ something for the dogs”.

It was an extremely wet evening on Wednesday for the team from #MutleyBaptistChurch but still reasonably busy with 62 people served during the evening plus lots of extras collected for family and friends.
Not surprisingly, people didn’t stay for long once they had collected their food.
The team were once again joined by Path Devon taking referrals for Project 58:7.
Amanda, a new team member arranged for Turkey Baps and Cranberry Sauce to be served. These went down very well. Many thanks to #YardeFarm for their generous donation.
Thanks also to Tesco Mutley and to Raphael for their donations of food. At the end of the evening all the spare food was taken to George House BCHA.
Lots of coats, hats, gloves and deodorant were also given out.
Many thanks to all the volunteers who served on such a stormy night. Whatever the weather, every night of the year, Plymouth Soup Run will be out on the streets of Plymouth serving the people who need our help and support.

Another wonderful donation, from a school, has been received today. This time from St Boniface's Catholic College. The gifts had lovely hand written cards with them. Jo who was presented with the goods says such kindness and generosity is “overwhelming” .

A number of businesses and organisations came together on Tuesday, coordinated by #JackSkorecki and #Babcock to serve on Plymouth Soup Run.
Volunteers from #Costain, #AtkinsRealis and #Elior provided all the food, sleeping bag, toiletries and warm gloves.
81 people were served during the evening with some extras provided for family members.
The team were also joined by Tara from Livewell Southwest who had vapes available which people were delighted with. And there were lots of extra goodies as well - mince pies, Heroes, biscuits, cans of drinks and a range of extra sandwiches. The team had plenty of food for everyone.
Staff from Path Devon were also at the stops checking on people who were rough sleeping.
Amazing team work on a very chilly evening.
It is great to know that all these organisations have committed to continue serving on the Plymouth Soup Run in 2026.

On Monday, in the kitchen was a Team from The Salvation Army - Plymouth Whitleigh led by Lorraine.
Chris drove the bus and Team #vivo came along to serve the food and drinks that had been prepared. Bronia was the Prayer Pastor.
Lots of warm dry clothes were given out, especially at Mayflower street where several people were drenched by the heavy rain.
70 people were served with some extras collected for friends or family.
As always on a Monday volunteers from StreetVet were available to help with any animals that needed assistance.

Sundays are often busy and this Sunday was no exception with 110 people served and another 8 bags collected for family members. Thanks to FareShare South West and everybody’s wonderful Christmas donations there was plenty of food for everyone. The hot meal was a selection of savouries with baked beans and potatoes or beef lasagna, together with soup and a snack bag. There was also fruit, yoghurt, ambient food and toiletries available.
Many thanks to the regular Sunday team and to the volunteers from STORM running.
Once again huge thanks to Dawn and her customers at #TheCuttingCorner for another generous donation.
A very “special mention” to Debbie who cooked both on Saturday morning and Sunday evening. Many of our volunteers give up their ‘free time’ at the weekend or in the evenings while still working full time.

It was a very busy Saturday evening for the team from #MethodistCentralHall and #StPeterandtheHolyApostles with an emergency dash for chips so there was sufficient food for everyone at the last stop. Special thanks to the Deliveroo driver, who on hearing who the chips were for, paid for them. The team were joined by members of #LighthouseBaptistChurch who were distributing Christmas gifts and spreading Christmas cheer.
104 people were served during the evening. 4 sleeping bags were given out, as well as some clothes and toiletries.
1 person’s leg was dressed and a couple of other people shared updates on their ongoing health problems.
Many thanks to everyone who helped, by preparing the food, donating items for the Christmas gifts, and serving on the night.

Knowing how much food to prepare each night is a challenge, as the number of people we serve can fluctuate a lot from night to night. Friday, was a much quieter evening for the team from Plymouth Christian Centre, which meant that there was plenty for everyone, including seconds! On the menu sausage rolls, beans and spicy potatoes with sandwiches, homemade soup, snacks and hot and cold drinks. A few people were very hungry and ate their food immediately.
1 sleeping bag was given out.
It is always good to see people and catch up on their news.
Everyone was reminded that on Saturday the first stop will be on the front steps of Methodist Central Hall.
