HUGE thanks to all the volunteers who helped make our Sunday Plymouth Soup Run possible. With a number of our regular team unable to help, sadly, in 4 cases due to illness / accident, it was a challenge to get enough people to prepare and serve the food, but we did it. Thanks to Hannah, Michelle, Steve and Debbie who all stepped in and of course to our 5 regular volunteers who were already on the rota.
There was plenty of food for the 105 people who came to the run, with piping hot chips, once again kindly donated by Harbourside Fish & Chips. The chips were served with either meat pie or sausage rolls plus the usual sandwich bags, soup, hot and cold drinks and a selection of desserts and some ambient food.
Food was also collected for 10 people unable to come to the run .
The team were once again joined by a staff member from Path Devon informing people who are #streethomeless which church was open as part of Project 58:7.
Huge thanks to everybody who helped and our very best wishes for a speedy recovery to our volunteers who are unwell.

It was a slightly quieter Saturday morning at #Shekinah with 22 people accessing support during the session. Once again, we were joined by podiatrist from Forgotten Feet - Helping Homeless Feet who treated eight people. Everyone was delighted with the way their feet felt afterwards.
Huge thanks to everybody who helped this morning. It is always good to have the support of Peter from Moxy Plymouth who cooked all the breakfasts and, together with Nikki, prepared some food for the Sunday night Plymouth Soup Run.
As every Saturday people were able to have a shower, get some clean items of clothing. Two rucksacks were also given out today.

After the very heavy rain during the day, fortunately on Friday,it was a dry evening. A team of volunteers from Plymouth Christian Centre served 52 people during the evening with a further 15 bags collected for family members or friends, unable to come to the run. On the menu was home-made carrot and coriander soup, cheese or cheese and ham sandwiches, chicken and mushroom pie with vegetables and lots of snacks. The team also had plenty of hot and cold drinks.
On Friday, and tonight, Saturday, Mutley Baptist Church will be open as part of project 58 : 7. 2 members of staff from Path Devon joined the team during the evening to direct people to the church. This project is making a huge difference to people who are #streethomeless.
Last night, it was wonderful to hear some really good news from a person who previously attended Plymouth Soup Run explaining how he had been able to move forward with his life and one day hopes to volunteer with us. 😀

On Thursday the Plymouth Soup Run team from Callington prepared sandwich bags and snacks for 80 with just 2 bags left at the end of the evening. Last night, as well as all the individuals served, food was collected for 2 families.
5 sleeping bags were given out with 2 very wet bags returned to be washed and dried.
Socks, gloves, underwear, dog treats and toiletries were also available.
Although the weather was mixed, with some very heavy downpours, a number of people wanted to stop and chat about their current situation.
Many thanks to the team who, having served on Christmas Day, crossed the Tamar for the first time in 2026 to serve on the streets of Plymouth.

On Wednesday 2 members of staff from Path Devon, accompanied the Plymouth Soup Run team from #mutleybaptistchurch to offer bed spaces under Project 58:7. As usual they were busy at Mayflower Street supporting people who are currently #streethomeless.
Food was served to 67 people during the evening with a further 12 bags collected for family / friends.
Thanks to Tesco Mutley Plain for their regular donation and to Raphael who arrived with 3 full bags of pastries and bread!
3 sleeping bags and 2 blankets were given out as well as
lots of gloves, hats, socks, jumpers/sweatshirts and some toiletries.
Folk were very grateful for the hot soup.
9 cheese sandwiches and the remaining bread and pastries were taken to George House BCHA.

Many thanks to Nick, Jo and the volunteers from Saint Paul’s Church Efford for organising and serving on Plymouth Soup Run on Tuesday evening, even though it is not their regular night. Fortunately, the team managed to dodge the rain serving 76 people with some extras given out as well. The hot food was steak pie from FareShare South West or quiche from #HERONVALLEY coffee shop. Thanks Steve for collecting the quiches.
Thanks also to #DeltPrintingServices for all the donations dropped at St Paul’s Church yesterday, some of which were distributed last night.

A member of Path Devon staff was on hand to arrange accommodation and direct people to St Matts Plymouth, the church open as part of project 58:7.
The team were also joined by Darren from #TheHealthInclusionPathwayPlymouth team who provided a listening ear, catching up with people who were known to him and making new connections.
Once again great #collaboration between services.
They weren't wrong when they forecast "Severe weather warning ⚠️"! For the third time in less than two weeks a Plymouth Soup Run team have been out in severe weather.
On Monday the intrepid team, from Saltash Medical Centre driven by Ben, ventured forth! The driving rain allowing only quick chats with Prayer Pastor Simon. The team also welcomed 2x 3rd year Medical Students, A staff member from Path Devon joined the team and, as every Monday, StreetVet Plymouth volunteers were on hand offering advice and support.
In the relentless rain 52 people came to collect food with some extra bags collected for family members.
3 sleeping bags were given out and 1 person was placed in accommodation for the night by Path Devon.

There was plenty of food on Sunday evening for the 95 people who came to 1 of the 4 Plymouth Soup Run stops, with another 10 meals collected for family members.
There are lots of people and groups to thank for the food - thanks to Becci and Heron Valley for the delicious quiches served with roast potatoes and carrots,

thanks to FareShare South West for all the individual deserts, soup and fruit and to EVERYONE who supports us by collecting and ordering essential supplies for us.
On Sunday donations were received from #thecuttingcorner, and Gwynn and Natalie, with some of the items added to the snack bags straight away. Thank you ALL.
Once the food has been donated our volunteers are busy preparing and serving the food and this Sunday it was great to be joined by 5 volunteers from STORM running.
Last night #sherwellchurch was open as part of project 58:7 with a queue of people waiting to see Path Devon staff hoping for a bed for the night. 10 people were accommodated.
Brilliant team work all round with so many individuals and groups helping to #MakeaDifference and offer help and support.
Thankfully, Saturday evening was dry although chillier than expected. A small team from #plymstockunitedchurch collected, prepared and served the food to 71 people, with just a few extras collected for friends. At the last stop there were a few sandwiches and savoury items left which were shared out. As always when this team are out, their homemade soup is highly rated.
It was a busy night at #mutleybaptistchurch, open as part of project 58: 7, for people who are #streethomeless, with 10 people and 1 dog sleeping there. This included 1 person we referred on Saturday morning and another person referred by Plymouth Soup Run during the evening. Great #partnershipworking.

Unsurprisingly with the dreadful weather overnight and this morning, Saturday, there was a long queue of bedraggled people waiting for #Shekinah to open. 26 people came in during the morning with everyone enjoying their full English breakfast, thanks Debbie and Emily. As we are open for 2 1/2 hours there was plenty of time for people to dry off, have a shower, if they wanted and get some dry clothes.
Everyone left with a packed lunch and people who are #streethomeless were reminded that #mutleybaptistchurch will be open this afternoon from 4 - 8 p.m. providing a chance to stay warm, dry and watch a film.

While Storm Ingrid battered Plymouth with strong winds accompanied by heavy rain 67 people braved the storm to collect food, delivered by the team from Plymouth Christian Centre. The cooks were busy in the afternoon and prepared Spanish Chicken, Creamy Mushroom Pasta and mushroom soup. There were also sandwich bags and hot drinks. Not surprisingly people collected their food and left quite quickly. 5 people, currently #streethomeless were directed to Mutley Baptist Church, open tonight, and Saturday as part of Project 58:7.
Clothes and toiletries were also available.

On Thursday a team from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints collected, prepared and served the food on Plymouth Soup Run. Thankfully, although the rain had stopped, people who are #streethomeless were explaining how wet their sleeping bags were. Whilst teams replace the wet sleeping bags, people are encouraged to bring back their wet ones to be washed and dried. In 2025 we gave out 663 sleeping bags 87 more than in 2024. We also gave out 168 blankets.
The team last night had plenty of food, with 65 people served at the Run and 16 bags collected for family / friends.
2 referrals were made to Path Devon.

It was a calm, good humoured Wednesday evening for the team from #mutleybaptistchurch.
Thanks to the Royal Marines Barracks at Bickleigh who provided 45 Cheese Baguette "Bag" meals in addition to the food prepared by the team, plus there was lots of extra food from Tesco Mutley Plain, and Raphael also brought lots of bread and pastries to the Money Centre. The spare food was taken to George House BCHA
2 sleeping bags were issued and clothes and toiletries were also given out.
The Path Devon team were out making referrals to Project 58:7. St Peter & the Holy Apostles, Plymouth is the church that opens overnight on a Wednesday.
86 meals were served in total with 9 extras collected for family / friends.
Once again, brilliant teamwork with Plymouth Soup Run , Path Devon, Transforming Plymouth Together, the Royal Marines and Tesco all joining together to provide #communitysupport by #helpingothers and hoping to #MakeADifference.
It was a busy, calm Tuesday night which started dry and then the heavens opened at Martin Street but fortunately just for a few minutes.
Thanks to the large, very willing team of volunteers from St Matts Plymouth and FareShare South West there was a wonderful selection of food available.
On the menu : pasta ragu, vegetarian curry, beef pie with turnip mash, and baked potatoes, cheese and beans. There were plenty of hard boiled eggs together with ham, cheese or egg mayonnaise sandwiches and Moroccan soup.
75 people were served during the evening with another 8 meals collected for family members.
Seconds of hot food were offered at the last 2 stops with the remaining hot food taken to George House BCHA.
A member of Path Devon staff was on hand to direct 5 people to sleep at St Matts Church who are part of Project 58:7.
3 Coats, toiletries and dry socks were given out and food for 2 dogs. The team also had lots of extra fruit, vegetables and cakes for people to choose from.
Later on Tuesday a message was received “ Thank you once again to all of you . It was absolutely delicious and thank you once again”.

Not so 'blue Monday'!
There was much anticipation and excitement at Plymouth Soup Run on Monday night as #MSubs brought an extra bus they'd filled with treats for those who came. Receiving a tote bag with biscuits, chocolate, and being able to choose which pot noodle and canned drink was very popular! Quote "I've never been treated so good in my life" 🥰
As the rain had paused many stayed to chat to the team, prayer Pastors Simon & Bronia and Team Lead/Driver Chris.
The freshly made vegetable and lentil soup went down a treat, as did the 'posh' hot chocolate. Thanks to #thecornwallbakery Samworth Brothers for the pasties/pies.
Team #Vivo helped with their food PREP alongside Vicky and Holly and the DofE student Ella.
Last night StreetVet Plymouth volunteers were busy, not only treating people’s dogs but also attending to a medical emergency which necessitated in an ambulance being called.

It was an extremely busy Sunday night for the team from #StPaulsChurchEfford, with absolutely no food left at the end of the evening. In fact, the team had to make up some extra bags to ensure everyone was fed. 122 people were served. Because of the high numbers, especially at stop 1 where there was 70 people alone, it wasn’t possible to give out second bags for family members.
As well as food, the team gave out 6 sleeping bags, 3 roll mats, a blanket, dog food, clothes, toiletries, and shoes.

Many thanks to the volunteers from #MethodistCentralHall and #StPeterandtheHolyApostles for organising and serving on Plymouth Soup Run on Saturday. The team served sausage and chips, much to everyone’s delight, with ketchup, vinegar and salt available to go with them. As well as the hot meal, there were sandwiches, a snack bag, oranges and plenty of cake available. The oranges were very well received. Thanks #SteveBody for dropping them off.

It was a very calm, peaceful evening with 73 people served and 9 bags of food collected for family members.

It was another VERY busy Saturday morning at Shekinah. Once again there was a queue of people waiting for us to open and people continued to arrive throughout the morning. 34 people were served in the 2 1/2 hrs we were open and the queue of people wanting a shower meant we stayed open slightly longer than usual.
We were joined by 2 podiatrists from Forgotten Feet - Helping Homeless Feet who were also very busy.
Huge thanks to ALL Plymouth Soup Run volunteers who regularly help on a Saturday.
During the morning a wonderful donation from First Tamar Valley Cub troop was dropped off. 10 boxes full of really helpful donations that the cubs had collected. Thank you all brilliant work. #communitysupport #helpingothers
Once again on Friday afternoon, the team of cooks were busy at Plymouth Christian Centre preparing the food for the evening Plymouth Soup Run. On the menu was a choice of 3 pasta dishes, either with chicken, sausage or a vegetarian option. The soup was pea and spinach and there were cheese and ham sandwiches. Plus some extras thanks to FareShare South West.
As it’s often the case Friday night is slightly quieter. 53 people came to one of the 4 stops and 8 extra meals were collected for family members / friends.
The surplus food was taken to George House BCHA.
Mutley Baptist Church was open last night, and will be again on Saturday, as part of project 58:7 and there was a queue of people waiting to check with Path Devon staff that they could go there to sleep. 1 person was accommodated by Plymouth City Council Out of Hours team.
5 sleeping bags were also given out.

On Thursday evening the team from #thecornwallbakery arrived with a wonderful selection of sandwiches and hot savouries, together with snack bags, fruit, freshlymade soup, water and hot drinks. The team served 78 people plus 11 meals collected for family members. At the last stop everyone was able to have extra sandwiches or savoury items.
As the road closure ( due to the bomb) was still in place the team were unable to go to stop 3 but were pleased to see many of the people, who would usually be attending Martin Street, at Kings Road.
1 sleeping bags, a blanket, some socks and underwear were also given out.
Many thanks to the Cornwall Bakery Samworth Brothers for their continued support, to The Salvation Army Devonport Life House Plymouth for the use of their kitchen to prepare the food and drinks and to the person, who when walking by last night, stopped to make a cash donation.
