Plymouth Soup Run serves the homeless 365 days a year

On Friday evening the team from Plymouth Christian On Friday evening the team from Plymouth Christian Centre had a good selection of food, with vegetarian lasagna, steak slices, sandwiches, fruit, jelly, banana cake & hot and cold drinks available. #faresharesouthwest
84 meals were served. 1 sleeping bag and 1 day rider were given out. 2 people currently #streethomeless let the team know their current location so the Rough Sleeper Team #pathdevon could be informed.

On the menu , another knockout soup, plenty of sandwiches and a bonus ‘banana cake & grapes’….bring on the volunteers serving. Many thanks to everyone who helped.
The @MutleyBaptistChurch team had a busy run on We The @MutleyBaptistChurch team had a busy run on Wednesday evening, serving a total of 106 meals. They also gave out lots of clothes and toiletries. Three sleeping bags were provided to rough sleepers, two of them in exchange for wet ones. One referral was made to the @Pathdevon Rough Sleeper Team. Thanks to a great team!
Whatever the weather every night seems to be busy Whatever the weather every night seems to be busy now. When the volunteers from St Matts Plymouth arrived on Tuesday there was a long queue of people waiting at the first stop. During the evening the team served a total of 95 people with 64 at stop 1 ! 
Thanks to FareShare South West there was a great selection of food available. 
4 dry sleeping bags were given out to replace wet ones, with toiletries and socks also available. 
Many thanks to all the volunteers who helped on Tuesday either in the kitchen preparing the food or out on the Run.

Huge thanks to everyone who was willing and able to give their time on our 3rd recent Bank Holiday. 
As is always the case on a Monday, Hope Baptist Church organised the run and yesterday their volunteers, both prepared the food, and served the 104 people waiting between the 4 stops. 
On the menu was freshly made roasted vegetable soup, sausage rolls, chicken and spring rolls along with the usual sandwich bags. All greatly appreciated by those who came to be served, as was the donation of food dropped off at Mayflower Street. The pastries, fruit and salads were an added bonus for people. 
Thanks also to Plymouth #StreetVets who joined the Run, as they do every Monday,  providing care for people’s animals.
Two weeks ago in the pouring rain, for the first t Two weeks ago in the pouring rain, for the first time, this team of volunteers took to the streets of Plymouth raising money for #plymouthsouprun. With just a small amount of money still to come in, £3,504. 06 has been raised. Not forgetting the 100 portions of chips from Harbourside Fish & Chips. Many thanks to EVERYONE who sponsored us. All the money raised will be used to help the people we serve nightly on the streets of Plymouth. And we have already served the chips, which we are told, were delicious.

There was plenty of food for everyone on Sunday. T There was plenty of food for everyone on Sunday. The team catered for 110 and served 98 people with those at the last stop receiving some extras. On the menu was Indonesian soup which was rated ‘epic’, a tasty pasta bolognaise, vegetarian lasagna, yogurts, sandwiches, snacks and hot & cold drinks. 4 day riders were given out to enable people to get to hospital appointments. Many thanks to ALL the volunteers and to #FareShareSouthWest for much of the food, including the highly rated ‘epic’ soup.
Superstars Leyton and Jaylon ran the school childr Superstars Leyton and Jaylon ran the school children's 5 mile run and raised enough money to buy 41 sleeping bags for St Paul's church Efford's Soup Run team. We are so proud of our fund-raisers and their families.
Saturday evening saw the first rain for ages, but Saturday evening saw the first rain for ages, but there were still 94 people waiting for food. On the menu, sausage, mash and beans, plus a snack bag for everybody. Four sleeping bags were given out, as well as lots of clothes, with coats in high demand due to the rain. Many thanks to ALL the volunteers from Saint Paul’s church Efford for their continuing support. 
A happy, relaxed Saturday morning at Shekinah with A happy, relaxed Saturday morning at Shekinah with plenty of time to chat to people. Peter from #moxyplymouth was in the kitchen, preparing breakfast and added hashbrowns to the menu, which was very popular. Jack and Lee helped in the kitchen and this evening, will be out on the Soup Run. 
Later in the morning, a couple of people had cheese on toast before leaving and everyone had a packed lunch to take away. Two sleeping bags, a rucksack, some toiletries & a few items of clothing were given out. Oh, and, of course, the rubbish always has to be taken out. Thanks, Josh.

Many thanks to all the volunteers from Plymouth Ch Many thanks to all the volunteers from Plymouth Christian Centre who had a busy Friday evening. The kitchen team made fresh tomato soup, which was much appreciated, together with a selection of sandwiches and a pasta dish. The team on the run served 89 people, gave out a sleeping bag, some clothes and chatted to people, catching up on their news.

It was a slightly quieter evening on Thursday for It was a slightly quieter evening on Thursday for the team from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, with 79 people served. There was a medical emergency at the first stop and an ambulance was called to assist. A member of the Soup Run team provided a temporary dressing, prior to their arrival. Incidents such as this are a reminder that, when necessary, Plymouth Soup Run provide far more than food. Thanks to everyone for all their help.
There are so many people and organisations to than There are so many people and organisations to thank for their help on Tuesday. Firstly, thanks to #ServicesDesignSolution and all their volunteers, for organising the food and serving everyone on another busy night. 
96 people were served.
Thanks also to Nick, Jo and St Paul’s Church Efford for the use of their equipment and premises so the team could prepare the food. 
Thanks to #thecornwallbakery for donating all the pasties and to Peter at the #MoxyPlymouth for the use of a fridge to keep the pasties cold during the day.

It is this AMAZING team work and #communitysupport that enables Plymouth Soup Run to operate every day of the year.

Hope Baptist Church organise the Soup Run every Mo Hope Baptist Church organise the Soup Run every Monday with the help of church members and local groups. Last night church members were joined by volunteers from #BabcockTU who prepared the food and a team from the #RoundTable who served the 100 people waiting at one of the 4 stops. As always on a Monday #StreetVets join the team and last night they were pleased to welcome Reg who was out for the first time. Many thanks to everyone who helped.

On Sunday the team served the chips with sausage and baked beans, sandwiches, a snack bag, lots of fruit and a choice of yogurt, jelly or pots of fruit. Hot and cold drinks were also available. 
4 sleeping bags were given out. 
103 people were served on a beautiful evening.

An opportunity for them to rest, sit quitly in the sun or shade, chat, have a cooked breakfast and a shower.
