Plymouth Soup Run
There was plenty of food on Sunday evening for the 95 people who came to 1 of the 4 Plymouth Soup Run stops, with another 10 meals collected for family members. There are lots of people and groups to thank for the food - thanks to Becci and Heron Valley for the delicious quiches served with roast potatoes and carrots, thanks to Sally, for all the eggs so we could make egg mayonnaise sandwiches, thanks to FareShare South West for all the individual deserts, soup and fruit and to EVERYONE who supports us by collecting and ordering essential supplies for us. On Sunday donations were received from #thecuttingcorner, and Gwynn and Natalie, with some of the items added to the snack bags straight away. Thank you ALL.Once the food has been donated our volunteers are busy preparing and serving the food and this Sunday it was great to be joined by 5 volunteers from STORM running. Last night #sherwellchurch was open as part of project 58:7 with a queue of people waiting to see Path Devon staff hoping for a bed for the night. 10 people were accommodated. Brilliant team work all round with so many individuals and groups helping to #makeadifference and offer help and support. ... See MoreSee Less

Plymouth Soup Run
Unsurprisingly with the dreadful weather overnight and this morning, Saturday, there was a long queue of bedraggled people waiting for #Shekinah to open. 26 people came in during the morning with everyone enjoying their full English breakfast, thanks Debbie and Emily. As we are open for 2 1/2 hours there was plenty of time for people to dry off, have a shower, if they wanted and get some dry clothes. Everyone left with a packed lunch and people who are #streethomeless were reminded that #mutleybaptistchurch will be open this afternoon from 4 - 8 p.m. providing a chance to stay warm, dry and watch a film. Many thanks to all the volunteers who helped this morning. Not many photos - it was a busy session!#communitysupport #helpingothers ... See MoreSee Less

On Thursday a team from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints collected, prepared and served the food on Plymouth Soup Run. Thankfully, although the rain had stopped, people who are #streethomeless were explaining how wet their sleeping bags were. We also gave out 168 blankets. The team last night had plenty of food, with 65 people served at the Run and 16 bags collected for family / friends. 2 referrals were made to Path Devon. Many thanks to all the team both front and back of house. Plymouth Soup Run
Not so 'blue Monday'! There was much anticipation and excitement at Plymouth Soup Run on Monday night as #MSubs brought an extra bus they'd filled with treats for those who came. Receiving a tote bag with biscuits, chocolate, and being able to choose which pot noodle and canned drink was very popular! Quote "I've never been treated so good in my life" 🥰As the rain had paused many stayed to chat to the team, prayer Pastors Simon & Bronia and Team Lead/Driver Chris. The freshly made vegetable and lentil soup went down a treat, as did the 'posh' hot chocolate. Thanks to #thecornwallbakery Samworth Brothers for the pasties/pies.Team #Vivo helped with their food PREP alongside Vicky and Holly and the DofE student Ella.Last night StreetVet Plymouth volunteers were busy, not only treating people’s dogs but also attending to a medical emergency which necessitated in an ambulance being called. As always huge thanks to everyone who helped on Monday evening. Great #teamwork #communitysupport #helpingothers ... See MoreSee Less

It was an extremely busy Sunday night for the team from #StPaulsChurchEfford, with absolutely no food left at the end of the evening. In fact, the team had to make up some extra bags to ensure everyone was fed. 122 people were served. Because of the high numbers, especially at stop 1 where there was 70 people alone, it wasn’t possible to give out second bags for family members. As well as food, the team gave out 6 sleeping bags, 3 roll mats, a blanket, dog food, clothes, toiletries, and shoes.4 people were referred to project 58:7.Path Devon Transforming Plymouth TogetherMany thanks to Nick, Jo and their team of volunteers. #communitysupport #MakeADifference #helpingothers ... The team served 78 people plus 11 meals collected for family members. At the last stop everyone was able to have extra sandwiches or savoury items. As the road closure ( due to the bomb) was still in place the team were unable to go to stop 3 but were pleased to see many of the people, who would usually be attending Martin Street, at Kings Road.1 sleeping bags, a blanket, some socks and underwear were also given out. Many thanks to the Cornwall Bakery Samworth Brothers for their continued support, to The Salvation Army Devonport Life House Plymouth for the use of their kitchen to prepare the food and drinks and to the person, who when walking by last night, stopped to make a cash donation. #communitysupport #helpingothers #makeadifference ... Plymouth Soup Run
The Wednesday night Plymouth Soup Run team from #mutleybaptistchurch just avoided the worst of the rain, meaning people could collect their food and get away to take shelter before the rain came.Because of the unexploded bomb at Martin Street the team were not able to go to stop 3 and had to follow a diversion to drive to Kings Road from The Hoe.The vast majority of people were in good spirits with 79 people served and 9 bags of food collected for family / friends. Thanks to Tesco Mutley Plain for their usual generous donation. At the first stop there was a queue of people, who are currently #streethomeless, waiting for Path Devon staff to see if they were able to sleep at #stpeterandtheholyapostles, the church that was open as part of project 58:7. Wednesday night is one of the main nights for clothes and a selection were available plus some toiletries.3 sleeping bags and a blanket were also given out. Many thanks to Mutley Baptist Church and all their volunteers. #communitysupport #helpingothers #makeadifference ... Fortunately, the rain stopped shortly before we went out on Plymouth Soup Run. It was a busy but calm evening with 92 people served across the 4 stops and another 12 meals collected for family / friends. There was plenty of food for everyone. Lyndsey had prepared 130 hot meals, chicken & bacon pasta bake and macaroni cheese, with the remainder being taken to George House BCHA and Sherwell church, which was open for people who were #streethomeless. As well as the hot meals we had 3 varieties of sandwiches, crisps, chocolate bars, hot and cold drinks, yoghurts, individual desserts and bananas. Many thanks to everybody who helped last night. We were joined, for the first time, by 4 volunteers from Inhealth Lung Screening. It was really good to have their support as 2 of our volunteers were needed up at the church for project. 58:7. 1 person, who we met at the run then went up jto the church to sleep for the first time. All the other people, who are accessing the church provision, already knew where to go.#communitysupport #helpingothers #MakeADifference ... Plymouth Soup Run
It was an exceptionally busy Saturday evening for the team from Lighthouse Community Centre CIC who crossed the Tamar for the first time in 2026 to serve on Plymouth Soup Run.Including extra bags collected for family / friends, 93 people were served. Knowing how much food to prepare every night is a challenge but the team had just about the right amount. Mutley Baptist Church was open again as part of project 58:7. 3 people were directed there from the first stop, one of whom was shivering from the cold. Another person, due to the complexity of their health, was collected by Path Devon and driven to the church. One more person, at the final stop, was dropped off at the church to avoid arriving too late and disturbing people already sleeping. As well as food, 3 day riders were given out for people who have forthcoming appointments. Huge thanks to all the team on a busy night. Thanks also to the people who continue to send really helpful donations from our Amazon Wishlist. #communitysupport #makeadifference #helpingothers ... Plymouth Soup Run
It was a very busy Saturday morning at #Shekinah with people waiting outside for us to open. #CharlieEde was in the kitchen working his magic with the help of Catherine who was volunteering with us for the first time. There were lots of compliments about the breakfast “ fantastic breakfast” “hits the spot” “a really nice breakfast” and “lovely toast,it was beautiful”. Today Charlie served a full English with hash browns, tomatoes and mushrooms. Sadly I have no photographic evidence of the breakfast as we were so busy! During the morning we served 29 people, 9 people had a shower with some having clean items of clothing. It was a happy, relaxed morning and, those people who wanted one, left with a packed lunch. Many thanks to ALL our volunteers who help on Saturday mornings. #communitysupport #MakeADifference #helpingothers ...
