Every Wednesday, a team from Mutley Baptist Church prepare and serve on Plymouth Soup Run. As well as food, the team are always well stocked with clothes and toiletries. Last night 74 people were served plus 9 extra bags for friends and family not able to get to the run. Toiletries were in high demand with no shower gel or deodorant left by the end. Thanks to the team.
Everyone smiles when Plymouth Citybus arrives bringing food to the people waiting for Plymouth Soup Run. On Tuesday, the team catered for 100, so there was plenty of food for the 89 people waiting at the four stops. Some new faces were there and one familiar one had the good news that he has now been accommodated. Many thanks to the Plymouth Citybus team.
A Hope Baptist Church team goes out on Plymouth Soup Run every Monday, usually supported by businesses and other groups in the city. This Monday, volunteers from Plymouth Labour helped Vicky in the kitchen, and others from Saltash Health Centre served on the run. It was a quiet evening and thankfully the rain eventually stopped. 75 people were served, three sleeping bags were given out, and good conversations were had. Thank you to all who helped.
On Sunday, while many people were watching “the match”, a team from #StPaulsEfford were serving on Plymouth Soup Run. It was business as usual across the four stops, with more than 60 people waiting at the first stop! A total of 105 people were served, plus 9 extra bags collected for friends and family not able to come to the run. Thanks to ALL the team.
Every night is busy now, with teams having to cater for 90-100 people to ensure they do not run out! On Saturday, there were approximately 95 people waiting for food. 4 sleeping bags, 1 blanket, and lots of clothes were also given out. Thanks to the team from Plymstock United Church.
Not surprisingly, with the high number of people who are currently #streethomeless, the Saturday morning session at Shekinah was busy. Everyone had a substantial breakfast with food to takeaway and help them through the day. Huge thanks to FareShare South West for all the fruit, and to the team for their efforts..
The Friday night team from Plymouth Christian Centre catered for 100 people and served 93 meals - almost spot on! A beautiful evening with people happy to chat to their friends and to volunteers. People who were #streethomeless were reminded that![]()

Thursdays used to be a quieter night but not now! Last night, thanks to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 103 people were served with just enough food for all. Three sleeping bags were given out, plus clothes and toiletries. Always good to chat to people and hear their news. Thank you to the team
Even though the football was on, last night�Plymouth Soup Runp Run was still busy for the team Mutley Baptist Churchhurch. The winning goal was shared (via mobile phone) with shouts of jubilation at the Martin Street stop! The team served 78 people at the run plus 12 extra bags for friends and family not able to collect for themselves. Blankets and clothing, including underwear and lots of socks, were given out. Thanks to the team.
Before the team of volunteers went out from St Matts Plymouth for a busy night serving 90 people on Plymouth Soup Run, it was time to say “thank you and goodbye” to two very special volunteers, Paul Sloggett and Claire Sloggett. Paul and Claire’s contribution has been enormous. They will be missed by us all.
Hope Baptist Church organised Plymouth Soup Run on a wet but peaceful Monday night. Bev, Jaide and voluteers from HM Land Registry Plymouth Office were in the kitchen. Simon, Richard, Bronia and volunteers from #babcock served on the run. They were joined by StreetVet and Trevi Women. The team served 67 people plus 13 meals for people not able to come to the run. Three referrals were made to @Pathdevon. Thanks to ALL.

Once again, a huge thank you to A&B Potatoes and Harbourside Fish & Chips for their very generous donation. Everyone was delighted with the piping hot chips, a real treat, served with pasties/sausage rolls and snacks. A busy Sunday evening serving 121 meals but plenty of food for everyone. A special thank you to the younger members of our team from Goosewell Primary Academy and Plymstock School who join us on a regular basis. A busy Saturday for the team from Plymouth Methodist Central Hall and St Peter & the Holy Apostles, Plymouth. Inspired by the day's football, they saw plenty of attack and action in the first quarter, a settled last three quarters and happy relief at the final whistle! It was a friendly match with 102 meals served😉. Great to be joined by Mike volunteering for the first time. Lots of clothes and one sleeping bag given out. Thanks to ALL.
Many thanks to the team of Plymouth Soup Run volunteers who opened Shekinah on Saturday morning. 16 people came for breakfast and a chat, with some having a shower and clothes. Two sleeping bags and two rucksacks were given out, and a number of phones were charged. Updates were sent to the Path Devon Rough Sleeper Team.![]()

Apart from the first stop which is always busy, it was a slightly quieter Friday for the Plymouth Christian Centre team. Four blankets were given out (donated by Argyle Community Trust) as well as two sleeping bags. Sadly, at the end of the week, there are often people just released from prison with no accommodation. Thanks to the team.
Always good to have an extra pair of hands to help with Plymouth Soup Run. On Friday, Owen helped to collect the food from FareShare South West and unload it at Shekinah. He then packed 24 bags with nonperishable items ready for Saturday morning - and all with a smile on his face. Thanks Owen.
An exceptionally busy Thursday for the team from #thecornwallbakery (Samworth Brothers) with 110 people served a selection of sandwiches, pasties, soup, snack bags and hot drinks. While there is currently a high-level of need, a few people did have more positive news to share. Thanks to all the team.
The Plymouth Soup Run team from Mutley Baptist Church had a busy but peaceful evening on Wednesday. As is commonly the case now, they gave out over 100 meals. To be precise, they served 95 people on the run plus 9 more bags of food for friends/family not able to get to one of the stops. Five people were given sleeping bags or blankets and referred to Path Devon. Some clothes and toiletries were also given out by the team. Thanks to all the volunteers for their efforts.
